Pregnant

I have funny stories to tell about finding out I was pregnant and how I told my family. I have been meaning to write in here but yesterday my internet wasn't working and today I have been busy. Tonight is no different. I am trying to talk to Cody on line, so my story will have to wait one more day. :)

Eventsof the day

Well, today was an eventful day. We got up around 8 which was nice because that was sleeping in a bit. It was nice because Tyler tossed and turned a lot last night. The last couple of days I have just been soooooooo tired and I can't seem to get into bed before 12. Any ways, we got up and I showered and then we met Sarah and Julia at Subway for lunch. After we ate, we went to their house to swim in their pool. Poor Tyler was standing in the grass and he just starts screaming. I thought maybe he had stepped on a sticker but he had fire ants all over his feet. I run him to the sidewalk and try to slap them all off of him and then we hosed down his feet and shoes. He cried for a minute or two and then asked me to kiss it better which I did and with tears still in his eyes he says, "All better." It was so cute yet so sad. I felt so awful for him because fire ants hurt SOOO bad! So Sarah was going to get him some Benndryl for the bites and she went to turn the water on so she could start filling the pool up. Before I even knew what happened, I heard her say, "Oh my gosh.." or something to that effect and turn around to Tyler screaming. He had tried to get in the pool before it had very much water in it and had slipped and smack his head on the concrete! My poor baby. He cried for like 5 minutes that time. Then we gave him bennedryl and rub some stuff on his ankles.

He didn't care as soon as the pool had water in it. He just wanted to swim. I took a picture about half an hour later of one of his ankles. It's so red! You should have seen them when the bites were huge bumps and were swollen.

The kids had lots of fun in the pool though, as always. They just love the water. we had fun and I even managed to get Tyler home without him throwing a huge fit. In fact,we had no tears at all while leaving. we got home and I didn't want Tyler to take a nap. I was worried about his head and I thought maybe he'd sleep better tonight if he didn't have one. He's doing ok so far. he cuddled on the couch with me for a while which was nice since he never does that any more. :) It was nice. Okay so here are some pictures of Tyler playing that I really liked.

I LOVE THIS NEXT ONE OF TYLER'S EYEBROWS

Here are some wild flowers that were in Sarah's back yard and a reflection of the sky in the water on the side walk. I thought bought pictures turned out pretty.

Lastly, for the first time I decided to do a picture of the week! I know some other people do it and I am not usually one to copy things but when I saw this picture I knew I had too! I was trying to just take a picture of Tyler's back. When I was looking at all the pictures I took on the lap top I noticed some bubbles in the picture. Then I realized where they were coming from and about peed myself! HAHA How was it that I just happen to be taking a picture of my kids back ( close up ) while he was passing gas in the pool! Those Roundy boys, I tell ya...

Stars

I bought these glasses in the dollar section of Target. The basically broke apart the second we took them out of the package but I got some pictures of the kids wearing them and that's all I wanted any ways. I forgot to add these to the post from earlier. We had a bunch of wind randomly around 4 and the power went out for about 30 minutes. I am glad Tyler was taking a nap when it happened. He hates having all the lights turned off!

Awwww, Young LOVE

We went to target with Sarah and Julia today. We had lots of fun. Tyler seems to be calming down A BIT! He had a little fit at target but he actually calmed down fairly quick. He had a nother little one at Chili's and seemed to calm down fairly quick there too. BUT in the car he had a pretty big fit. Julia likes to scream when she is excited and Tyler thought she was mad at him and he started crying and trying to kick me! Then after I got him calmed down he did it again. Once we got home I put him down for a nap and he went down pretty quick. I was going to keep him awake because he had a HUGE nap yesterday and then didn't sleep well, but he CLEARLY needed a nap so I went a head and put him down. Today I am not going let him sleep past two hours! :)

At Chili's it was cute because Tyler and Julia were playing footsy's under the table. HAHA I put the camera under the table and took a picture.

Here they are holding hands in the car.

Surprised me...

My kid surprising me ALL the time with how smart he is. But every parent thinks there kid is smart right?! My mother in law is a Principal at an elementary school and she tells us all the time that Tyler is smarter then half of her kindergarten class because he knows his alphabet and knows what all the letters look like. Isn't that sad? I can't imagine a kid being 5 and NOT knowing that. Our neighbor for instance is 4 and she doesn't know her colors. She was over here playing one time and she pick me a yellow flower and said, "Look a pretty pink flower." I looked at her and said, "Well, this one is yellow." Then just to test her I said, "What color is my shirt?" and she said "Green." and it was blue! That didn't surprise me a whole lot because her parents pay absolutely no attention to her but it still shocked me a little bit. Not only did Tyler tell her what all of the colors were, he signed them for her! haha

So my point in writing this was because Tyler completely shocked me this morning while getting ready for church. His church shoes are too small but he wanted to wear them any ways. I had them in my hand and I said, "Do you want to wear your boots or do you want to wear these?" Normally he would say "These" and point to the shoes in my hand. Instead he looked at the shoes, pointed and said, "THOSE." I couldn't believe it! I try and repeat things back to him the way they are supposed to be said if he says something wrong or in the wrong tense so I guess it's paying off. That was my shocker for the day though. He's only 2 and a half! He's not supposed to be growing up this fast! :(

A day of FUN!

We had a branch social today and our church building. We had a BBQ and some water games. The kids had so much fun!!! They had a slip-N-slide and Madison and Tyler would run around to the bottom of it, jump inside the little pool part that you are suppose to slide into, and then run down the slide part! It was kind of funny. The slip-n-slide was cute. It was a shark and the mouth would close and open automatically! It was way cute. Here are some pictures. The yellow thing around Tyler's head was for a game they were going to play after the slip-n-slide, but Madison and Tyler just continued to play on it instead!

Tyler looking an awful lot like his Uncle Scottie in this picture

Madison, Tyler's cousin

I like the next couple of pictures because it's a sequence of funny faces as he went down the slide!

And before the slide when he just had a gun...the first gun he has ever held, thank you very much. Unfortunately, he liked it! haha

Cool Idea for Photography Lovers

While searching on line for different photography names for my future company, I found this web article that I thought was VERY interesting. I think I might try some variation of it. I found it because someone had suggested the name "Time Capsule Photography" ( which was taken!! ) and I found this. I thought I would share it for those who also like taking pictures and blogging and what not! ENJOY!

The photo enthusiasts at Photojojo suggest putting together an ongoing time capsule by setting picture appointments for your future self.

The idea is that you take a photo of yourself, then write a letter to yourself several years in the future with instructions to add another photo to the capsule. This photo project is reminiscent of Project 365 (where you take a picture every day for a year)—which we helped you automate—with a bit more of a long term scope. Photojojo suggests reminding yourself to take your future photos by using an email service like previously mentioned FutureMe to send an email to your future self. Sounds like a great project. — Adam Pash

OK, ok

So I hate having pictures in every single post but I actually had like 4 post in a row with no photo's so I'm just making up for it! haha We went to the play ground again tonight and I of course took pictures and I got some good ones I wanted to share with y'all. I'm talking to Cody on messenger right now so I'm making this short...

I really like the last picture of Tyler's back because he was jumping up and down and saying "I DID IT!" heehee

B O R E D

Tyler is driving me NUTS today! he asks for one thing and I give it to him and then cries because he doesn't want it. It's been a LOOOOOOOONG day and now he is refusing to nap! He has been in his room for like 40 minutes now and is still moving around and talking a little bit. Grrrr. To keep myself from going nuts I have been playing on the lap top. I was looking through some old pictures and there was this old picture of Tyler I have always like that I took at my parents house. I cropped it and made it black and white and now I love it even more! I thought I'd share it

Then I started fixing other pictures. Here are two that I cropped and messed around with a little bit. I call the first one "Pole dancing" ( he takes after his momma! haha )

Sunburnt

I HATE sunburns! We played with Sarah and Julia again today and they kids had so much fun. the other pool they had popped! So they had to get another one. I was afraid they wouldn't have as much fun because it didn't have a slide but they found ways to make it fun! They kept climbing onto the sides and then jumping or sliding into the pool. Overall it was a good day! We had a lunch date with Debbie too and we ALWAYS have fun with Debbie. So here are some pictures, because you know I took some. Actually I only took about 15 or 20 today! believe it or not. :)

Playground FUN!

My kid LOVES the playground, then again I don't know a kid who doesn't. It's so hot here during the day time and I am counting down the days to when the schools get out so we can go at 9 in the morning! So yesterday I took Tyler after dinner. We had so much fun ( until it was time to go and he threw a fit ) Whenever Cody is gone I try and take lots of pictures when we do anything so Cody doesn't feel completely left out. So here are some of the many I took yesterday. Ii seriously took a little over 90! The picture of the sky I took because 1) I like the sky and 2) there was the tiniest little rainbow! See if you can find it!

Copied from my myspace

I copied this from my blog on my myspace so if you are someone who reads those blogs then you can skip this one! haha

I have come to realize lately that if you sit on your butt all day long thinking about what you want to do in the future, it's always gonna be dreaming and not doing. What the heck am I talking about? Ever since my wedding, I have been dreaming of being a professional photographer. I always LOVED taking pictures but I never thought of it as a career path until the day I got my pictures back! I was so mad because the photographer didn't take ANY pictures of my center pieces of what the reception looked like. He didn't really take any pictures of my flowers or a good one of my dress, it was mainly pictures of family and friends. I love some of my pictures but was highly disappointed that I didn't have a picture of my center pieces. It seems silly really, but they were so pretty and I LOVED the way the turned out. If you are reading this and were at my wedding and took pictures of the center pieces LET ME KNOW ( what? I thought it was at least worth mentioning...) I think men can be good wedding photographers, but in theory I think women should be better! I mean, girls dream of their wedding from the beginning of their existence. I knew if I had been taking pictures of my wedding, I would have taken pictures of the center pieces!

Okay getting off topic now...Lately I have been thinking about how I need to get the ball rolling. Really I am not ready to start my own business with Cody being g0one all the time and what not, BUT I want to start thinking about it and possibly start something. I am struggling with a name people! Cody and I started writing things down that came to mind. Most people just call it Katie Photography or Photos by Katie. I REALLY don't want to do that! It's soooooooo not original at all and I think I would have more fun if I had a real name and not just one that had MY name in it. We had come up with some that I really liked until I looked them up on line and three of the 4 I REALLY liked were already on line photography magazines and the other was already taken by like 10 people. GRRRRRRR! SO, I am asking your help. Got any ideas??? If it has my name in it thats fine I just don't want that to be the ONLY thing in the title. For instance, my Brother in law Kurt just gave me "Katie's Dark Room" and I actually really like that one. Give me some ideas people...Stacie and I have been just trying to think of any words at all that had to do with photography. the problem is that because of digital cameras, photography is SO easy to do no wand SO many people do it! Almost anything we think of is taken. So seriously people, give me WHATEVER comes to mind! i appreciate it. :)

Artsy Fartsy

I just wanted to post three pictures I took recently. I thought they all turned out well. The two were right after it rained and I thought the reflection was so pretty. The other was while Tyler and Madison were playing after we had dinner at El Tapitio. The sun was going down and it was shinning through the trees and I had to take a picture. I just wish I had had my other camera because the picture would have turned out so much better. ENJOY!

MUCH better

We had an awful day yesterday! Tyler was so moody and threw fit and fit over anything and everything. It was very difficult for me and very frustrating. Tyler is the pickiest eater ever and lately he won't eat anything. I have decided that we needed to change the way we eat around here. Yesterday was the first day I tried and he was NOT happy about it. That caused even more fits and frustration. It needed to be done though because he will never start eating normal food if I didn't do something different. I put him to sleep and then put on The Office. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows. We watched season one and two before Cody left. Then I started season 3 on thursday. It's so funny! I love it. I ate to much last night though and my stomach was bothering me. It kept me from falling asleep. It took me at least an hour to find a position that didn't hurt.

Today started out well though. Tyler slept in until 9 which was nice since it was about 1 in the morning when I fell asleep. When I got him up he seemed really happy which was good. We ended up having a great day today! Hooray! I got a lot of laundry done and I got to clean my kitchen. Lunch was really nice too. We sat at the tabel for an hour with no TV or anything loud and distracting. I had fun and I hope Tyler has fun too. he was mad at first and started crying because I told him we were eating at the table. While I was blessing our food he kept wiping the tears off of his face. But then he came over and gave me a hug before I could even say amen.

Then I put Tyler down for his nap and it only took him like 20 minutes to fall sleep. I put on the Office and got to watch a whole disc! Tyler actually slept until quarter to 5 which was awesome. I got him up and he had pooped so as we were walking through the kitchen to the living room to change him, I about peed my pants when I saw a HUGE roach on my wall. Okay, I'm from California where the cockroaches aren't that big. The ones here ( for those who don't know ) are HUMONGOUS and have wings and fly! NO JOKE! The first time one started flying I screamed so loud I scared the crap out of Cody. They are so gross. So I went to the living room and changed Tyler and when I came back into the kitchen it was gone! I looked for it for about an hour and never found it. Which is so depressing. But the good news is that I got to talk to Cody twice today. Once for about 3 minutes and then again later for about 10 minutes. We also talked on line for about 10 minutes. he still isn't in Iraq yet. For now he is still stuck in Kuwait waiting to get his passport stamped and a flight out of there. Then he is flying to baghdad ( yeah, i can't spell ) and then to where ever in Iraq he is going. I'm glad he is safe and getting caught up on some sleep.

For now I am off to out Tyler down for bed. Today was Sunday but we had stake conference and we didn't go. so we have just been sitting around. At 7:30 Tyler requested to go outside so we did. Then I noticed our grass is covered in fire ant hills so instead I took him to Sonic to get ice cream. Shhhhhhhh! Don't tell. I can't wait to put him down so I can watch MORE Office! I'm obsessed!

Copy Cat

So Tyler has been really into coping words lately. Especially if it isn't something he has heard before. For instance he heard something on the TV say a word he didn't know so he repeated it several times. I can't remember what the word was though. He has been very into this lately though. He's like a sponge! Well, last weekend when the electricity went out we put a movie on my lap top to watch. The sound unfortunately is not so great on our lap tops so we had it turned up all the way and it was still hard to hear. We were watching the movie Saved and if you haven't seen it it's pretty darn funny. There is this part where the main girl is upset and she cusses. She says the "S" word. Immediately following the word is just absolute silence. Well, tyler was sitting on my lap ( he was running around the living room a minute earlier ) and she said the word and I KNOW he hasn't heard it before and so what did he do? he repeated it without even skipping a beat! And what did we all do? Started laughing hysterically which all parents know that is the WRONG this to do. Laughing actually ended up being a GREAT thing for us to do because following the "S" word she then says the "F" word and I would have been mortified if Tyler would have copied that too! Then I told him it was a bad word and we don't say that. Luckily for me he hasn't said it since. I am pretty sure he doesn't remember it. For a while when he would get made he'd say "freak" because I say that and he would even growl when he said it because that's what I always do when I say it! haha I'm laughing but it is SO not funny. I finally got him to stop saying that. Any ways. Just thought I'd share that story because we thought it was pretty funny. For all you mommies that read this you can feel a little bit better knowing that your kids aren't the only one who pick up bad habits from you! haha

One day at a time

Tyler has asked me several times today to go find daddy! What am I supposed to tell him? For the most part I just keep ignoring him or changing the subject. He has been SO moody today. He had a HUGE meltdown at Walmart and several here at the house. He did have a good nap which I figured would help but it seems to have nmot made a difference. Thank goodness for Popsicles! They are such a good bribe for him. I need to work out a new time out for him. He has started hitting again and for like two months he hadn't done it. I don't know what set him off to start doing it again.

Good news is I got to talk to Cody on line right now. That was nice. I have been talking to him off and on on line since about 3 this afternoon. Even though I didn't get to hear his voice it was still nice. :) I am off for now to make some tortilla soup. People, I am telling you, if you have not tried it yet DO! I put the recipe on here a month ago or so...but seriously, it's such a good recipe. It's going to be my comfort food tonight. I promised myself I would start working out today and I am so going to put it off one more day. I am SOOOOOOOOOO tired tonight. I went to bed way too late, not wanting to get into bed alone and now I am just exhausted. Hopefully I can talk myself into getting into bed around 10:30 or so tonight. OKay, the soup is calling my name so I better go make it.

Last day with Daddy

So we went to the park today as kind of a fun last day with daddy. It was SOOOOOO hot out and Tyler has been eating hardly anything all week. When he started swinging on the swings it was kind of a re-play of the time he threw up. He started closing his eyes and his face was bright red so we said it was time to go. I carried him to the car and he was basically half passed out. We got home and I laid him down on the couch and he just laid there for like 5 minutes without moving. He then got up and came to me in the kitchen and asked me to pick him up. I held him for a while and then he threw up ALL over me! haha It was good times. Enjoy the pictures
