Oh my goodness...

Tyler did the funniest thing last night while he was taking a bath. It was one of those moments where you think, "Thank goodness no one was watching" but then turn around and tell everyone any ways because it was so funny. It gets close to Tyler's bed time so I unplug the tub so the water starts to drain. We usually do this instead of just getting him out with the water still full because he gets upset and wants to stay in the tub to play. He was playing with an alligator and making roar and do all these things in the water. The water starts to drain and as it does it covers less and less of his body. It is always colder in the bath room then it is in the rest of the house because we have no heat vent in there and our house has no insulation. The water gets just below his "man parts" so the tip was sticking out in the cold. Tyler starts peeing and is fascinated by this. He actually takes the alligator in his hand, places it in the pee stream and says, "Drink!" I immediately pushed his hand away and said, "No, let's not do that." Then I just lose it. Oh my goodness I laughed so hard I cried. Then Cody called 10 minutes or so later to say goodnight to Tyler and I told him and we just laughed. Man kids do the funniest stuff some times!

Another story really quick. He loves yogurt. He eats it every day for breakfast and then occasionally will ask to eat it later on in the day as well. Two days ago I was talking to my mom on the phone and he ask for Diego yogurt so I gave him some. He was in the living room at his little Elmo table eating away and I was in the kitchen talking on the phone and putting away clean dishes. I decided to check on Tyler and he is sitting at his table with yogurt all over the floor and his boots! I kind of giggle to myself and as I get closer I notice it looks kind of rubbed in. When he spilled yogurt I usually just get a baby wipe to clean it up. He had gotten out a baby wipe "cleaned" it and then put the wipe back in the baby wipe container! haha Good times. At least he tried.

Tyler's Valentines day present

I never know what to do for Tyler for holidays because we don't give him a lot of candy...in fact, up until November he didn't really know what chocolate was. Now he request chocolate and it makes his grandpa Shane proud! haha I love ordering digital prints from various places on line. They also have things like photo books, posters, neck ties, mugs and other things you can do with your pictures these days. One of the sites I love is called Shutterfly. They are a little more expensive then a lot of the other photo sites but I think there quality is better so you get what you pay for. They have books that you can get for kids where it puts them in a Sesame Street story. Its extremely expensive though and so I never, EVER thought I would actually make one. Then back in January we went to Target, one of our family favorites, and I came across some sale items, another family favorite! I was looking around and they had several things that said shutterfly on them. Shutterfly and Target teamed up so that you can actually upload pictures on line and then pick them up at Target along with other things. Also Target had some of the mugs and other things you can buy also for sale in the store. What you do is pay for it and then it gives you a code to enter into your account on line and then you make it on line like you normally would. I was looking through all of the different things they had and I saw the Sesame Street books! I was so excited because...don't freak out on me BUT normally they are 40 dollars plus 8 dollars for standard shipping! Yeah, I know. WAY to expensive. At Target they were on sale for only 28 dollars and the shipping was FREE! We went a head and bought it and made it for Tyler for Valentine's day. It turned out so cute and I am so happy with how he responded as well. I wanted to post some pictures. If you think this is a cute idea and want to check it out, go to shutterfly.com the only thing is I have NEVER seen these kids books on sale on the web site! Everything else goes on sale all the time but the kids books don't. Next time you are at Target, look to see if they have any in the electronic section back where they sell things like computer ink. Thats where it was at our Target any ways. Also if you go and sign up for their web site, you get 20 free prints and if you tell them you signed up because of me, I will get some free prints as well. There are other web sites as well though. Here are a few:
snapfish.com
winkflash.com
picaboo.com
yorkphoto.com
clarkcolor.com

Any ways. ENJOY the pictures and create some memories with your digital prints! I will warn you that it is VERY addicting!

Apples and Peanut butter

Tyler is one of the pickiest eaters ever!!! For those who know me well are probably laughing because I too am a picky eater. Not as bad as him, TRUST ME! He still eats baby food! No joke. He does not like anything new. I finally got him to eat peanut butter a few months ago and now he LOVES it! He will eat peanut butter off of a spoon he loves it so much. The other day I decided I was going to put some on a cut up apple for him because he will kind of sort of eat apples...but not really! haha ABout ten minutes after I gave him the apples he brought me him plate back and said "No no no." I look down and there were the apples, licked clean! I love kids

Tyler Texas

Cody left this Tuesday to go on a trip and will be gone for three weeks. Since Monday was a Presidents day and he had the day off of work, he decided to take Friday off as well so we could have a long weekend before he left. I had done the laundry on Thursday so we didn't have to worry about that either. Friday we drove up to Tyler Texas. Cody has a best friend named Tyler who moved there with his wife about 6 months ago and we still hadn't gone to see him yet. We decided this was the perfect time to go. To bad for us the weather was kind of cruddy and we spent most the weekend dodging the rain. Sunday when we drove home it was gorgeous. Figures! Friday we drove up and Tyler did pretty well in the car. It took us about 3 or 4 hours to get there. However, he was so tired and absolutely refused to take a nap. He is a stubborn little boy. When we got to our hotel we checked in and hung out for a little while. Then we met Tyler and his wife Angela at their apartment. We then went to the Texas Road House fro dinner. They said it would be about a half an hour wait. Poor Tyler because it ended up being at least an hour before we were seated. Tyler no longer will sit in the high chairs at those places so its easiest for us to have a booth. If you have ever been to a Texas Road house it is pretty much all booths. They had about three tables in the whole place and they of course gave us one! Doh! Thats okay because Ty sat in his own chair and did pretty darn good. That night Tyler went to sleep fairly good. It was a little after 10 when he finally drifted off to sleep. He usually goes to bed at 8:30. Let's think about this for a minute; No nap Thursday, no nap Friday plus going to bed almost 2 hours past my bed time. Hmmmmmmmmm...yup you guest it! He was a cranky butt the next day! haha He actually wasn't nearly as bad as I thought he would be and we still managed to have some fun with him. We went to a museum but it scared Tyler so that didn't last long. The good thing was they had a play ground with a fire truck and a train. It was rainy and wet but we decided it didn't matter and let him play any ways. I was smart and brought extra clothes for him just incase. He played for quite a while and I took some pictures. We then went to lunch where Tyler tested our patients once again. For some reason he wasn't hungry hardly at all most of the weekend. In other words, he got bored rather quickly. The waitress was nice and brought him some ice cream and that helped a little. Ice cream fixes everything...well, at least for a minute. After this we went back to Tyler and Angela's and talked for a while. Then we went bowling. TyTy had never been bowling before and after a long day with no naps again, it was very difficult for him to understand that he had to wait his turn. The first 10 minutes we were there I wanted to shoot myself but after that he got the idea and did pretty well. He really enjoyed bowling. Then we went back to their apartment and played games and had some dessert. Then we went back to the hotel and tried to get tyler to eat something and calm down for bed time. We got him to sleep about 10:30 and about 2 hours later some dumb little kid called our hotel room and it scared him. He woke up crying and hitting anything close to him. It was very frustrating because it was 1 in the morning and we were in a hotel and he was screaming at the top of his lungs. It took me almost 10 minutes to calm down and stop crying and hitting. It was not fun. After this occurred, I couldn't sleep. Seriously, let just say I REALLy want a bowflex now because that was the infomercial I watched until 4 that morning when I finally manage to fall asleep. Did I mention that I was hanging half off of the bed because Tyler was laying side ways and kept kicking me?! Yeah the next day was no fun at all. We drove home and Tyler cried several time. When we got home we put him to bed and he was in his room for almost 2 hours and never fell asleep all the way. We I went to get him out of bed I realized he had pooped. No wonder he didn't fall asleep! Needless to say it was a fun, yet stressful, tiring weekend! Enjoy the pictures. I love the sign that was on the playground! Classic Texas for ya.

BOOTS OBSESSED!!

My little man Tyler has been OBSESSED with his boots lately. He wants to wear them ALL the time and it doesn't matter what he is wearing. I have started taking pictures of all the crazy outfits because they make me laugh so hard. He also has started wearing a "cape". He has a Blues Clues episode where Steve wears a cape and they pretend to be super hero's. So we took an old baby blanket and tied it around his neck and he loves it. He wore it to Walmart the other day to go shopping! Any ways. I thought I would share the crazy pictures for you guys to see. I love how kids just have such a playful spirit about them and don't care what others think. He gets really mad when I tell him it is time to take them off because its time to take a nap! Haha Enjoy because I know they make me laugh!

Back tracking

Today is supposed to be one of the most romantic days of the year. Everyone is supposed to go out on dates and romance each other. Its about flowers, candy, cards and kissing. I have come to a realization a minute ago that I wanted to share with everyone. I have always been a romantic person. I am taken back to a particular Valentines day in the 8th grade where you could buy Valentine grams for your friends and they would be delivered throughout the day during your classes. I didn't expect to get any really and I don't remember if I bought one for anyone else either. I didn't have a boyfriend at the time and I was a little down. The world tells you that if you do not have a special someone on this day you are a NO BODY WHO NO ONE LOVES! I went to school looking the same as any other day and to my surprise three of my best friends, Becky, Chanelle and Ruben had all bought me the message grams. There may have been some other people who also gave me gifts as well. I felt so loved and it had nothing to do with romance, but friendship and love.

This is how I feel today. Tyler and I have been hanging out all day and all of his kids shows have been about showing love. He keeps coming up and hugging me and moaning, which to Tyler means 'I love you!' Its been wonderful. When I got up this morning there was a simple card on my lap top from Cody telling me how much he loves me. It was perfect. We were planning on going to dinner with his brother and his wife. The kids were going to stay home with a baby sitter ( which we NEVER do ) and it was going to be romantic. Stacie and Kurt are both sick and can't make it. We decided yesterday that if they still weren't feeling well Cody and I would just go to dinner by ourselves. Stacie wrote me an e-mail to let me know that they are still not feeling up to going out. I called Cody to see what he wanted to do and him and I had the same thing in mind. "Let's just hang out with Tyler." Cody said. I had been thinking the same thing. Then he said, "We can go get some pizza." Which was amazing to me because I had the EXACT same thing in mind. So I am going to keep Tyler up from his nap today and when Cody gets off of work we are going to meet him at the playground and play. Then we are going to get some pizza and watch a movie. Then put Tyler to bed early and cuddle up on the couch! This is perfect in my mind. Who needs all the romance? I used to think I did but its so funny how when you get married and start a family things change. Valentines day is SUPPOSED to be a day to celebrate your love for family and friends. It doesn't have to be romantic. Today going to the playground, getting some pizza and cuddling on the couch sounds absolutely perfect! To all those who read this, I love you! You are what this day is all about and I hope you spend it with your loved ones in a way that is right for you! Enjoy each others company and tell each other how much they mean!

This was something I wrote for another blog and I wanted to share it here. We really did have a great Valentines day. When Cody got home from work he told me he had a surprise for me. It was a new printer! I was so excited because we have been needing one so bad. I actually tried making something for Cody for Valentines day that involved the printer and I couldn't get it to print right and didn't get to make it so I told him I would make it for him now while he is gone on his trip and he will have it when he gets home. Any ways. It was a nice day and I was grateful we got to spend it together as a family.

Woo hoo

I decided to start a new blog for our family. This way people who do not stay in touch with us on a regular basis can see what we are up too. Also, I love sending pictures through e-mail and this way I won't need to do that quite as much. I am doing this for family and friends so enjoy it and keep up with what we are doing. We really don't do that much and Cody is on a business trip right now. Haha But I have a friend who started one of these for her family and I have really enjoyed it. I figured it would be fun to do one for us as well. As most of you know, I enjoy taking pictures and I love journaling so this should be the perfect past time for me. :) Enjoy
