One Year

Today is my girls 1st birthday. I can't even believe that it was a whole year ago that I held her in my arms for the very first time! Kayla I love you always and forever.

All my pictures from her first year of life are on my external hard drive from when my computer crashed SO hopefully sometime tomorrow or the next day I can get some pictures up here. I had been wanting to do one of Tyler too since on his birthday I didn't do one for him either but I really wanted to. I have really slacked off in the land of blogging. In fact, I forgot to write something about our Christmas that happened. We got in the car to go look at Christmas lights set up in the park. It was REALLY cold and we were trying to get into the car fast. Kayla was being extra wiggly and I was having a hard time getting her strapped into her car seat. We get about 5 blocks away from our house ( only going 30 MPH ) and Tyler starts laughing hysterically. I ask him, "Tyler whats so funny?" He says, "She's standing." I have no clue what he is talking about. "What?" "Kayla is standing in her car seat" I turn around and apparently I strapped Kayla's CARSEAT into the CAR but forgot to strap KAYLA into her CARSEAT! I about had a heart attack. I grabbed her and made Cody pull over RIGHT there so I could strap her in. And the mothero f the year award ( just in the nick of time...since it was almost 2010 at this point ) goes to me AGAIN! Poor Kayla. She fell off the couch when she was two months old, she pulled the lap top on top of her face and now her mommy forgot to secure her to her car seat. BOOOOOOOOOOOO Now I strap her into her car seat IN the house and carry her out. It works out much better!

Randomness

Here are a few things from the last week.

Yesterday Tyler was watching a Wiggles Christmas DVD from netflix. I wasn't paying any attention to it because I had a head ache and I had been eating/feeding Kayla lunch in the kitchen. I came back into the living room and sat down on the couch to check my email ( which i do like....50 times a day it seems like ). Tyler is always telling me things like, "Mom today you are Anthony the Blue Wiggle" and I just go along with it. SO he tells me, "Mom, Dad's the bad guy." Hmmmmm, Okay?!
"Daddy's not the bad guy Tyler." I say
"Yes he is." he replies through laughter.
"No he isn't. Why do you think Daddy is the bad guy?" I was curious because Daddy is usually a Wiggle as well.
"because Mom, he says 'Baahumbug!" hahahahahahahahaha Cody is grumpy during Christmas and so at LEAST 5 times a day he would say, "Baahumbug!" I'd just give him a look and he tried so hard not to do it around Tyler because Tyler was SO excited about Christmas. So I called Cody and told him Tyler said he was the bad guy because he says, "Baahumbug." We had a pretty good laugh about it over the phone. heehee

The other day Tyler wanted to make a sock puppet. I grabbed a sock ( which happened to be one my SIL Alison bought me so Alison don't worry, i didn't cut the sock at all cause trust me when I say I use these when it is really cold and I am having a lazy day at home! ) and we put eyes on it for him. He loved it.



After we made this we had some lunch and were watching Bolt ( really cute movie ) and if you have seen this movie you will know what I am talking about. There is a part where the cat tells Bolt, the dog, to beg for food. She calls it the "dog face". Tyler told me he was doing the dog face. Check it out

So, Kayla needed a hair cut. Her bangs were so long that they were constantly in her eyes and driving her crazy but she won't keep bows or rubberbands in her hair. SO, I decided to cut some bangs. MAN WAS THAT HARD! She would follow the scissors with her eyes and head and either try and grab them or eat them...yeah she tries to eat everything. She still tries to suck the water off of my hands when I try and wash her face. The other day at McDonald's she ate more then Tyler...the little fatty. Any ways, I finally just came up behind her and cut. Poor girl has the shortest bangs ever!



Here is a project from like two weeks ago. I made a vinyl cheetah bib for Kayla. She HATES it! haha The vinyl must feel awful on her neck or something. So I think I might try and make another one and make the neck bigger. Also, I thought it would be easier for the bib to fit over the high chair but that was dumb because now she can't see her food so I have to constantly go over and push it forward for her. It's annoying. So next time I try and make one of these I will take my SIL Emily's advice and make it long enough to go UNDER the high chair! I wish you had made yours first Em so I could have copied it!

Tyler has been REALLY good the last 5 days or so.

A Day With My Boy

Tyler and I had some fun outside today while Kayla was taking her nap.









He has been such a good boy the last 5 days or so! I love you Tyler!!!

Bestest

We had the bestest day ever yesterday. No fights, NO yelling, No whining...it was wonderful. And to top it all off, I got great pictures of my kids. I mean REALLY...how much better could it get. Oh wait, it can! I also got to sew because BOTH kids took naps in the afternoon. I also got to work out and have lost four more pounds this week. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Jeans to Skirt

Okay so the project I wanted help with was a pair of jeans I was turning into a skirt. I like how it came out. I am even considering wearing them tomorrow outside of the house! haha If you want to see pictures go here

On a side note Kayla is on a Buzz kick. She thinks he is her boyfriend. She carries him all over the house and usually she carries one in each hand since we have several. Check her out

Shutterfly Love

I love shutterfly for ordering prints. They are a little more expensive but it is for a good reason. Any other place I have ordered from mail things in paper envelopes. Shutterfly are the only ones who send their stuff in cardboard sleeves!!! They are having a special right now for people who have not used them before. Any one want something for free? PLaydate

We had a play date several weeks ago with some friends of ours from church. I took pictures of the kids playing on the trampoline and of Kayla and Josh sitting on the swing together. We also had a little b-day party for Tyler I never posted pictures of. So here are the ones I have been meaning to post

These two pictures crack me up. I told Tyler to put his arm around and I took a picture and then they fell back and I had to take another pictures because it looked like they were cuddling. HAHA Poor Tyler has so many black mail pictures I can used against him someday

I just realized that I forgot to post pictures from Tyler's dance class. A week or two before Christmas they had a special class where the parents could take pictures are stuff. Unfortunately for me the sun was glaring right in Tyler's face. But I got a couple of pictures.

I about had a heart attack when I looked over and she was sitting up on the couch by herself. She is turning into a little terror! Getting into everything and I swear she is determined to kill herself. Today she pulled Tyler toys sorter thing over on top of herself and then she fell back wards down the stairs into the kitchen ( its only two stairs just so you know and no one freaks out when they read that! ). Then she ALMOST fell down the stairs about 4 or 5 more times. Little stinker.

So Tyler and I did a puzzle together. A BIG FAT LIAR PUZZLE! It was seriously SO HARD. The box said, "For ages 5 and up!" Yeah RIGHT!




And her are some other pictures I have been to lazy to post. We had a McDonald's trip two Saturdays ago with Stacie and Madison. I brought out the camera because Tyler and Madison were cuddling but the second they saw the camera they did this
